Namaste Alpaca Farm

Namaste (pronounced "Nam-a-stay") is an expression used as a greeting or upon departing in Yoga.  It means, 'I honor the Spirit in you which is also in me.' This, of course, is also a way of saying, “I recognize that we are all equal.”

We named our farm “Namaste Alpaca Farm” to honor the spirit in the alpaca.  We hope to share this spirit with guests at our Inn by showcasing our animals and providing information about them.  We will be showcasing  their fiber and products made from alpaca yarns in our new gift shop.

On our farm, presently, we have five girls: Cashie, Ellie Mae, Maize, Laurie and Molly.  On June 21, 2007, Cashie presented us with a incredible male cria, who we have named "Namaste's Plato".  Plato is light fawn and was walking 10 minutes after his birth.  He is delightful to watch and very photogenic.   Ellie Mae gave birth to a medium fawn male, who we are calling Socrates.    Maize, Laurie and Molly are very cute and fun to watch.  We will be breeding them in the fall.

We have one other male, who is called Da Vinci, Cashie's son.  We recently added two large white llamas - Rainbow and Corrina to help protect our alpaca from predicators

Alpaca are magnificent animals, serene but commanding. They are very inquisitive often staring at you as you watch them in the pasture.  Their positive energy just begs you to touch them, but only if it is right with them.  NEAOBA (New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association) says:  “Just one touch….fall in love with an Alpaca”

We have recently added a gift shop to the Inn.  We have processed our fiber and have wonderful yarns and rovings for sale.  Alpaca fiber is cashmere-like, incredibly soft and warm.  We also have some clothing  made from alpaca yarns and other available items for gifts.  We especially love our alpaca "Teddy Bears".  When you stay at the Inn be sure to visit our gift shop!
