Lost Valley Ski Resort (www.lostvalleyski.com)  Maine’s best kept secret.  Lost Valley Ski Resort, a serene and beautiful facility with panoramic views, just 18 miles from our door.  Lost Valley has two chair lifts and a T-bar servicing a super selection of 15 trails varying in skill-levels.  Snowboarding and Nordic cross-country are also available as well as rental equipment.

Pineland Farms  (www.pinelandfarms.org)  a productive and educational setting for people of Maine and beyond.  Located in the rolling hills of New Gloucester, minutes from the Inn,  The Farm is a 3,000 acre working farm, diverse business campus, and educational/recreational center. Educational programs include hands on participation in projects that explore our connection to nature and agriculture.  The recreation facilities include professionally-designed cross-country skiing and walking trails, a permanent orienteering course, horseback riding, tennis courts and a YMCA.  The farm include prize winning Holstein cows, Angus beef cattle, sheep, pigs, chickens, hay cropping, greenhouse and vegetable production.  Visitors are able to tour the barns and dairy facilities on a scheduled basis.

Wolf’s Neck State Park (www.maine.gov/doc/parks) Spanning the wooded peninsula, the “neck” of land between the Harraseeket River and Casco Bay.  The park is 245 acres of nature’s space to seek exercise or relaxation, a festive gathering place a stimulating learning experience or the chance to connect with nature in solitude.  With 5 miles of walking trails including a wheelchair and stroller accessible path the park invites people of all ages to explore the outdoors.
